Hey there! π Vidyam Lite is a super handy tool designed by ThinkLab Studio to help you quickly create custom question papers using the power of AI. Whether you need multiple-choice questions or descriptive ones, for any subject or topic, this guide will show you exactly how to do it. Let's get started!
π First Steps: Opening the App
To kick things off, you just need to open the app in your web browser.
-
Open the Web App: Simply go to the special web address (URL) you were given for your Vidyam Lite app deployment. This link is what makes the app appear in your browser!
When it opens, you'll see a clean screen, ready for you to tell it what kind of paper you need.
π How to Create Your Question Paper
This is where the magic happens! You'll fill out a simple form to tell the AI exactly what kind of questions you want.
-
Fill in the Blanks: Here's a quick rundown of what each field means and how to fill it out:
- Subject(s): What subject are the questions for?
- Example: Physics, Biology, World History
- Chapter(s) / Topic(s): What specific parts of the subject should the questions cover?
- Example: Electricity, Human Body Systems, Cold War
- Question Count: This is important! Tell the AI the exact number of questions you want. It will try its best to give you precisely this many.
- Example: 10 (for a quick quiz), 25 (for a short test), 50 (for a full exam)
- Time (in minutes, Optional): How long should someone have to complete this paper? (You don't have to fill this in if you don't need a time limit.)
- Example: 60 (for an hour), 120 (for two hours)
- Difficulty Level: How challenging should the questions be?
- Choose from: Easy, Medium, Hard, or Mixed (for a mix of difficulties).
- Exam Context / Rules: What kind of exam is this for? This helps the AI understand the style and typical rules.
- Example: School Midterm, University Entrance Exam, Competitive Exam (like JEE, NEET), also you can choose your grade (like 5th CBSE, 8th State Board, 10th Boards, 12th HSC)
- Type of Paper: What kind of questions do you need?
- Choose from: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Theory / Descriptive (where you write full answers).
- PYQ Year(s) (Optional): Want questions from past exams? List the years here!
- Example: 2020, 2021 (for questions from those years)
Hereβs what the form looks like when youβve filled in your details.
-
Make it Happen!: Once all your preferences are set, simply click the big "Generate Paper" button.
The blue button is your go-to to start generating!
-
Watch it Work: A little loading message and progress bar will pop up. The AI is working hard to create your paper! This can take a moment, especially if you ask for many questions, as it works through them in small batches.
The app will keep you updated on its progress.
π Your Finished Question Paper
Once the AI is done, your new question paper will appear right there on the screen!
-
See Your Questions: Each question will be clearly numbered and shown in its own "Question Block."
Here's an example of how a question will look.
-
Answers - Show & Hide:
- By default, the answers are hidden so you can test yourself or others.
- To see all the answers and their explanations, click the "Show Answer" button.
- To hide them again, just click the button once more (it will change to "Hide Answer").
Find the "Show Answer" button at the top of your generated paper section.
An answer and its explanation will appear below each question when revealed.
-
Copy What You Need: See that little copy icon in the top-right corner of each question and answer block? Click it, and that specific text will be copied to your clipboard, ready for you to paste wherever you like! A quick "Copied!" message will confirm.
Use the copy icon to grab individual questions or answers.
π‘ Quick Tips & Troubleshooting
- Math and Science Formulas: Vidyam Lite understands LaTeX! So, complex math (textlikeE=mc2) and chemistry formulas (textlikeH_2O) will look great. If you ever see "Unknown environment 'tikzpicture'" errors, it means the AI tried to draw a picture using a special LaTeX command that web browsers can't display. Don't worry, the text for the question should still be there!
- Time to Generate: Asking for a lot of questions (like 50 or more) can take a little while β maybe a minute or two. The app sends requests in small batches to the AI to make sure you get the exact number of questions you asked for!
We hope Vidyam Lite makes creating question papers a breeze for you! If you have any more questions, just ask.
